About the role
Responsibilities
- Interpret drawings and specifications to prepare work plans and work packages for field crews
- Perform quantity calculations, material takeoffs, and basic engineering calculations
- Supervise field operations and coordinate work groups on the jobsite
- Assist in project planning, scheduling, and contract administration
- Maintain project records including daily reports, RFIs, and as-built data
- Participate in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox meetings, and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) preparation
- Support estimating efforts by analyzing historical data and performing plan reviews
Requirements
- 3+ years of construction field experience
- Undergraduate degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field
- Proven experience in engineering and leading other engineers
- Ability to read, analyze, and identify discrepancies in engineering plans and specifications
- Ability to travel and relocate as needed for various projects across Canada and the USA
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in diverse outdoor climates and access all points of a construction site
