About the role

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with study participants to support device use, training, and optimization during clinical sessions and at home
  • Apply principles of rehabilitation (PM&R, OT, PT) to maximize participant outcomes and functional performance
  • Collaborate with surgeons, investigators, and site staff to ensure seamless clinical execution
  • Serve as the primary interface between participants and technology, troubleshooting issues in real time
  • Support surgical and post-operative workflows, including intraoperative and early post-implant sessions
  • Ensure high-quality, protocol-compliant data collection and align activities with study endpoints
  • Partner with clinical, engineering, and data teams to translate real-world use into actionable insights
  • Identify trends in participant performance, usability challenges, and safety signals
  • Contribute to the development of training protocols, user workflows, and clinical best practices
  • Support site onboarding, training, and ongoing engagement across clinical sites
  • Assist in preparation for regulatory inspections and ensure compliance with GCP and internal procedures
  • Travel to clinical sites as needed to support study execution and participant care

Requirements

  • Clinical training and hands-on experience in PM&R, occupational therapy, or physical therapy
  • Focus on neurological populations such as SCI, ALS, or stroke
  • 3+ years of experience in a clinical, field-based, or medical device-adjacent role
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with patients and clinicians in dynamic care environments
  • Strong problem-solving skills for real-time clinical and technical troubleshooting
  • Ability to interpret participant performance, functional outcomes, and device behavior
  • Comfort working with technology and software-driven systems
  • Working knowledge of clinical research principles and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across clinical, engineering, and operations teams
  • Willingness to travel frequently to support clinical sites and participants

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree or formal training in bioengineering or biomedical engineering
  • Experience with neuromodulation, brain-computer interfaces, or neurorehabilitation technologies
  • Prior experience as a clinical field engineer, clinical specialist, or applications role in medical devices
  • Experience supporting surgical procedures or intraoperative environments
  • Familiarity with signal-based systems such as neural data, EMG, or EEG
  • Exposure to rehabilitation technology integration and assistive devices
  • Experience supporting multi-site clinical studies
  • Comfort working with data systems like EDC platforms
  • Understanding of usability, human factors, and patient-centered design principles
