Field Bus Technician

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, inspections, and repairs on Volvo buses and coaches
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic faults using Volvo diagnostic systems
• Attend roadside breakdowns and emergency call-outs to return vehicles to service quickly
• Complete vehicle health checks and identify additional repair opportunities
• Ensure all work meets Volvo Trucks and Volvo Bus manufacturer standards
• Accurately record work completed, parts used, and diagnostic findings through company systems
• Maintain service vans, tools, and equipment to a high standard
• Liaise professionally with customers regarding vehicle status and repair progress

Requirements

• Qualified HGV, PSV, Bus, Coach, or Commercial Vehicle Technician (Level 3 or equivalent)
• Strong experience in fault finding and diagnostics
• Knowledge of modern vehicle electrical and electronic systems
• Experience using manufacturer diagnostic equipment
• Full UK driving licence (HGV licence is desirable but not essential)
• Ability to work independently in a field-based environment
• Flexible approach to working hours and on-call requirements
