About the role
Responsibilities
- Conduct plant and wildlife surveys across Arizona and New Mexico territories
- Perform electronic data collection and handheld/sub-meter accurate GPS data collection
- Follow strict survey protocols to provide quality data for agency and client reports
- Compile daily reporting and survey report documentation
- Work independently or within teams in remote field locations
- Comply with all company safety programs and protocols
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 seasons of Field Biologist survey experience
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or a related field
- Proficiency with sub-meter accuracy GPS technologies and map interpretation (NWI, USGS, aerial photography)
- Ability to work safely outdoors in variable weather and challenging terrain
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong organizational, communication, and attention to detail skills
- Willingness to travel and stay overnight in the field
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Burrowing owl, Desert Tortoise, and native plant species
- Fluency in English and Spanish
