Field Biologist

Responsibilities

• Conduct plant and wildlife surveys across Arizona and New Mexico territories
• Perform electronic data collection and handheld/sub-meter accurate GPS data collection
• Follow strict survey protocols to provide quality data for agency and client reports
• Compile daily reporting and survey report documentation
• Work independently or within teams in remote field locations
• Comply with all company safety programs and protocols

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 seasons of Field Biologist survey experience
• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or a related field
• Proficiency with sub-meter accuracy GPS technologies and map interpretation (NWI, USGS, aerial photography)
• Ability to work safely outdoors in variable weather and challenging terrain
• Valid driver’s license
• Strong organizational, communication, and attention to detail skills
• Willingness to travel and stay overnight in the field

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Burrowing owl, Desert Tortoise, and native plant species
• Fluency in English and Spanish
