Field Applications Engineer

Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted technical advisor for Microchip's broad portfolio of security products and solutions
• Provide in-depth engineering support to assist customers with hardware and software development
• Develop proof-of-concept solutions and demos to help clients familiarize themselves with Microchip products
• Grow the security opportunities funnel by working closely with Sales and Business teams
• Provide customer feedback to Business Lines to influence future security-related product roadmaps
• Deliver technical training and presentations to customers and distributors

Requirements

• BS in Electronic Engineering or an equivalent degree
• Proven experience in embedded systems and microcontroller/microprocessor-based designs
• Strong knowledge of embedded security cryptography, PKI principles, and certificate management
• Working knowledge of hardware-based security techniques such as HSM, TrustZone, or Secure Boot
• Proficiency in embedded C programming language
• Experience with IoT systems and cloud connectivity (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
• Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills
• Ability to travel up to 25% to support customers or attend training

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Embedded Linux
• Previous experience in technical support or design engineering roles
• Familiarity with Microchip-based embedded systems
