Field Advisor

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support field experiences for teacher candidates to bridge the gap between theory and practice
• Mentor, assess, and provide ongoing feedback to a cohort of BEd students and interns regarding their professional competence
• Liaise with mentor teachers, school administrators, and community partners to facilitate learning goals and address student progress
• Collaborate with the field experience team on program planning, including orientation, induction, and mentor recruitment
• Assist in the development and revision of program policies, guidelines, and field experience handbooks
• Track student progress and provide academic advising regarding performance in field settings

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline
• Minimum of four years of relevant classroom teaching experience
• Demonstrated commitment to enhancing awareness and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion
• Willingness to respect diverse perspectives, including those that may conflict with one's own

Preferred Qualifications

• Master-level degree in Education
• Experience in instructional leadership within school settings
