About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage trust and estate tax law workflows, including the preparation and review of trust income tax returns (Forms 1041, 990, 5227, and 1099)
  • Coordinate fiduciary tax tasks, processes, and team workflows across high volumes
  • Manage and maintain assigned accounts to ensure timely and accurate tax reporting
  • Respond to tax notices and work directly with tax authorities and vendors
  • Mitigate client, administrator, and internal inquiries while supporting trust and investment teams
  • Provide tax training across the organization as required
  • Lead project management for special client and organizational projects

Requirements

  • Accounting degree (CPA or EA preferred, or currently in progress)
  • 3+ years of general tax experience or 2+ years of specific trust tax experience
  • Proficiency in OneSource Trust Tax software
  • Advanced Excel and data skills for managing large datasets, including functions and interactive worksheets
  • Understanding of trust accounting income/principal concepts (SWP/SEI)
  • Experience with tax research software and capital changes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Access database and Power BI
  • Background in Trust, Estate, IRA, and GST taxation
