Fiberglass/GRP/Composite Technician

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, repair, and maintain fiberglass components and structures using molds, tools, and resins
• Create fiberglass tooling and molds from various materials including MDF, foam, and wood
• Prepare prototypes and plugs to meet specific surface quality and dimensional requirements
• Apply gel coat, fiberglass reinforcement (via chopper gun or hand lay-up), and structural materials
• Trim, sand, polish, and clean completed molds and parts to ensure high-quality finishes
• Release cured products from molds using various hand tools and machinery
• Measure product dimensions to verify conformance to customer specifications

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in fiberglass repair or manufacturing (marine, automotive, or aerospace)
• Familiarity with hand lay-up, spray-up, and vacuum bagging techniques
• Ability to operate power tools such as grinders and sanders
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
• Physical ability to stand, bend, and lift materials for extended periods
• Willingness to work in dusty, noisy, and sometimes confined environments
• High school diploma or GED preferred
