Fiber Test Engineer

Responsibilities

• Manage fiber handling, routing, and organization within lab spaces
• Configure, calibrate, and debug test equipment and infrastructure
• Operate Arbitrary Waveform Generators and perform component characterization
• Write and redline technical procedures and generate documentation/diagrams
• Provide general test event support for communication and PAT systems
• Perform experimental arrangement debugging and data analysis

Requirements

• Active DoD Secret clearance
• Bachelor of Science degree
• 5 years of applicable engineering experience
• Proficiency in fiber splicing, routing, and handling
• Experience with lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, power meters, spectrum analyzers, etc.)
• Experience with MATLAB for data analysis and reporting
• Experience with high-power optical amplifiers

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with designing GUIs using MATLAB App Designer
• Proficiency in coding languages such as Python
• Knowledge of Solidworks
• Understanding of Signals and Systems
• Experience with optical communications systems, standards, and PAT techniques
