Fiber Superintendent

Responsibilities

• Provide direct oversight of OSP and ISP fiber installation crews to ensure safe and efficient execution
• Manage daily construction activities including conduit, innerduct, rack, and cabinet installation
• Oversee fiber pulling, routing, splicing, and testing operations
• Champion a safety-first culture through daily field walks, safety meetings, and job hazard analyses (JHAs)
• Develop and execute short-term and long-term work plans to maintain production targets and schedules
• Manage subcontractor performance, ensuring adherence to contract scope, safety, and quality standards
• Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and design documents to resolve field issues and RFIs
• Maintain accurate as-built documentation, redlines, and turnover packages

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in fiber optic construction with progressive leadership experience
• Proven experience leading OSP and/or ISP fiber installation crews
• Strong working knowledge of conduit and innerduct systems
• Expertise in fiber installation, splicing, and testing
• Experience with data center fiber infrastructure including racks, pathways, and patching
• Ability to read and interpret complex construction drawings and specifications
• Strong communication skills for coordinating with field teams, general contractors, and client stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on large-scale data center or mission-critical projects
• Background in design-build or EPC environments
• Familiarity with commissioning, turnover, and high-performance facility standards
• OSHA certifications or equivalent safety training
