Fiber Splicing Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform cable installation, construction, maintenance, and repair work for fiber optic networks
• Terminate fiber optic cables and confirm accurate connections on cross-connects, patch panels, hubs, and routers
• Troubleshoot and locate cable faults to resolve signal problems without causing service interruptions
• Assist the OSP construction team with cable placement and locating existing cable/duct
• Validate and test end-to-end service provisioning for the cable network
• Review site surveys, design drawings, and technical manuals to determine installation feasibility
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including production sheets and time sheets
• Adhere to all safety standards and quality control requirements, prioritizing safety over production

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• 1-3 years of experience in climbing towers, rigging, or stacking
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to lift 50lbs or more and perform physical tasks such as bending, squatting, climbing, and kneeling
• Successful completion of industrial first aid and rescue training
• Willingness to travel extensively (80-100% of the time), including out-of-state travel for several months
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and unpredictable hours

Preferred Qualifications

• Related trade school education
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
