About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform end-to-end splicing on aerial and underground fiber optic cables
- Use OTDRs, power meters, and light-level testing equipment for activation and testing
- Diagnose splice loss, attenuation, and various network issues
- Interpret blueprints, splice diagrams, and technical documentation
- Create accurate as-built documentation and manage daily production reports
- Ensure strict compliance with all safety protocols
- Maintain organized inventories of tools, hardware, and materials
- Communicate professionally with property owners and residents
Requirements
- Proven experience with fusion splicing and fiber architecture
- Proficiency with Google Earth, EXFO/OTDR software, and spreadsheets
- Ability to read splice matrices and technical PDFs
- Ability to perform physical aerial and underground field work
- Valid driver's license
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as required by projects
- Ability to pass a drug screening and background check
- Authorized to work in the United States
