Fiber Splice Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end splicing on aerial and underground fiber optic cables
• Use OTDRs, power meters, and light-level testing equipment for activation and testing
• Diagnose splice loss, attenuation, and various network issues
• Interpret blueprints, splice diagrams, and technical documentation
• Create accurate as-built documentation and manage daily production reports
• Ensure strict compliance with all safety protocols
• Maintain organized inventories of tools, hardware, and materials
• Communicate professionally with property owners and residents

Requirements

• Proven experience with fusion splicing and fiber architecture
• Proficiency with Google Earth, EXFO/OTDR software, and spreadsheets
• Ability to read splice matrices and technical PDFs
• Ability to perform physical aerial and underground field work
• Valid driver's license
• Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as required by projects
• Ability to pass a drug screening and background check
• Authorized to work in the United States
