Fiber Operations Technician

Responsibilities

• Process Specialty Optical Fiber products and support R&D projects
• Operate fiber winders and manage day-to-day tasks based on inventory and scheduling
• Work cooperatively across multiple functions and process areas
• Interface with Operations and Quality resources during production
• Perform database entry to track inventory and warehouse data
• Support shipping activities including labeling, packing, and preparing reels

Requirements

• Associate degree in a technical field preferred, or equivalent experience
• Strong math and science aptitude
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail and disciplined, accurate work habits
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and database systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of manufacturing/production operations and scheduling
• Ability to multitask across multiple work streams and process steps
• Familiarity with Performance Excellence methods and tools
• Previous experience with optical fibers or related processes
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
