About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive fertilizer import, trading, and overall strategy.
- Identify and act on trading opportunities to optimize the supply chain, including negotiating contracts, pricing, and terms.
- Partner with operations, sales, logistics, and customer support to optimize product lines.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and industry stakeholders.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, supply-demand dynamics, and competitor activities.
- Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports on trading activities, strategy, and performance metrics for leadership.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business, Finance, Economics, or Supply Chain Management.
- 3+ years of fertilizer trading experience preferred.
- Proven experience managing positions, evaluating risk, and performing fundamental and technical analysis.
- Strong knowledge of the fertilizer market, including key players, products, and regulations.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across organizational levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook and Teams.
- Ability to work outside normal business hours, including weekends, and travel to visit customers.
