About the role
Responsibilities
- Conducting thorough inspections of incoming and outgoing materials to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications
- Identify and segregating non-conforming materials, such as contaminants or prohibited items
- Utilizing appropriate tools and equipment to measure and verify the weight, dimensions, and composition materials
- Collaborating with the operations team to coordinate the movement and storage of materials within the yard
- Communicating and reporting any deviations from quality standards
Requirements
- Previous experience in metal recycling materials inspection
- Knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and their properties
- Familiarity with measurement tools like scales, callipers, and magnet testers
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and lift heavy objects
- Proficiency in computer systems for data entry and record keeping
- Ability to work in heavy industrial environments and various weather conditions
Benefits
- Starting pay of CAD 26.50/hr plus overtime after 44 hours
