Ferrous Inspector

Responsibilities

• Conducting thorough inspections of incoming and outgoing materials to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications
• Identify and segregating non-conforming materials, such as contaminants or prohibited items
• Utilizing appropriate tools and equipment to measure and verify the weight, dimensions, and composition materials
• Collaborating with the operations team to coordinate the movement and storage of materials within the yard
• Communicating and reporting any deviations from quality standards

Requirements

• Previous experience in metal recycling materials inspection
• Knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and their properties
• Familiarity with measurement tools like scales, callipers, and magnet testers
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and lift heavy objects
• Proficiency in computer systems for data entry and record keeping
• Ability to work in heavy industrial environments and various weather conditions

Benefits

• Starting pay of CAD 26.50/hr plus overtime after 44 hours
