Fermentation Technician

Responsibilities

• Prepare, operate, and maintain demo plant fermentation systems
• Monitor production systems and make real-time adjustments for optimal yields
• Run and maintain laboratory equipment for process monitoring and quality control
• Execute precise sampling routines and implement data-driven operational changes
• Maintain operational familiarity with both lab-scale and demo-scale fermenters
• Collaborate with Plant Operators to analyze run data and recommend system modifications
• Assist with hands-on testing and initial commissioning/startup activities
• Follow Site Safety Protocols including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Process Safety Management (PSM)
• Identify operational bottlenecks and assist with Root Cause Analysis (RCA)

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in biochemical or specialty chemical manufacturing
• Experience in a demo plant, laboratory, or startup environment preferred
• Hands-on experience operating fermentation systems and bioprocessing
• Familiarity with lab-scale and demo-scale fermenters and analytical testing equipment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work full-time on-site on a shift schedule
