Fermentation Process Engineer

Responsibilities

• Identify, analyze, and implement actions to optimize industrial fermentation processes and associated unit operations
• Monitor and evaluate process performance indicators to ensure operational stability and business continuity
• Analyze procedures, processes, and equipment to improve efficiency, quality, and reliability while reducing costs
• Conduct process risk analyses, including HAZOP, and participate in root cause analysis for safety and quality issues
• Develop mass and energy balances for new or developing processes
• Define process requirements for new projects and equipment acquisition
• Maintain and update technical documentation, including P&IDs, PFDs, and operating manuals
• Train and capacitate the operational team on new equipment and procedures

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or Bioprocess Engineering
• Experience in process engineering, projects, or production within bioprocess operations
• Experience interpreting P&IDs, PFDs, and cause and effect matrices
• Advanced English proficiency
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with PI DataLink, PI Vision, AutoCAD, MS Project, or Visio
• Lean Manufacturing or Green Belt certification
