Responsibilities

• Own the Abu Dhabi content calendar across digital, social, and print platforms
• Produce SEO-optimised articles, features, and listings for whatson.ae
• Write and commission long-form features to establish brand authority
• Create platform-appropriate social content, including short-form video and stories
• Identify and break exclusive stories within the entertainment, hospitality, and lifestyle sectors
• Attend events, launches, and activations to generate content and build PR relationships
• Contribute monthly articles to the What’s On print magazine
• Build and manage a network of Abu Dhabi PR and industry contacts

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Media, Communications, or equivalent
• 3-5 years of experience in digital publishing, features writing, or lifestyle journalism
• Strong SEO knowledge, including headlines, keywording, and content structure
• Proficiency in CMS platforms like WordPress and familiarity with analytics tools
• Experience producing and editing short-form social video content
• Excellent written English with a strong editorial voice
• Solid understanding of the Abu Dhabi lifestyle, entertainment, and hospitality landscape
• Established UAE media/PR network or evidence of actively building one
