FDOT Project Surveyor (PSM)

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise all surveying and mapping activities for FDOT projects
• Collaborate with FDOT representatives and project stakeholders to understand goals and deliverables
• Prepare and review project proposals, cost estimates, and work plans
• Lead and mentor a team of surveyors and mappers
• Utilize advanced surveying equipment and software for accurate field measurements
• Conduct surveys for highway alignments, right-of-way boundaries, and topographic features
• Implement quality control procedures to ensure compliance with FDOT standards
• Act as a primary point of contact for FDOT officials and drive business development efforts

Requirements

• Registration as a Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) in the State of Florida
• 10+ years of experience in surveying and mapping
• FDOT pre-qualification for projects 8.1, 8.2, and 8.4
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Experience with total stations, GPS receivers, and data collectors
• Knowledge of FDOT surveying and mapping standards
• Strong business development and client relationship management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with GIS and FDOT-specific tools like Geopak or MicroStation
• Background in subdivision and condominium plats or topographic surveys
