Fatigue Calculation Specialist (Aeronautics)

Responsibilities

• Perform structural sizing using fatigue and damage tolerance calculations for primary structures
• Optimize part geometry and validate mechanical strength
• Simulate real loading conditions via finite element models
• Detect and evaluate critical damage risks on metallic structures
• Define inspection programs to ensure airworthiness
• Write and verify certification dossiers
• Lead R&D projects and mentor junior engineers
• Provide technical expertise during pre-sales phases
• Propose innovative calculation methods and optimize inspection processes
• Participate in external industry events and conferences

Requirements

• 5 to 10 years of experience in structural/fatigue calculation, ideally in aeronautics
• Mastery of NASTRAN (mandatory), HyperMesh, ABAQUS, or ISAMI
• Knowledge of aeronautical standards and fatigue/damage tolerance methods
• Experience with aeronautical materials (titanium, aluminum alloys)
• Experience in team management or technical mentoring
• Fluent technical English
• Strong analytical skills and pedagogical abilities
