Farrowing Lead

Responsibilities

• Educate and train employees to follow all production protocols and company standards
• Monitor employee performance to ensure proper animal husbandry and maximize production efficiency
• Develop employee skills to support personal growth and organizational profitability
• Assign and manage daily tasks to achieve farm production goals
• Log and maintain accurate daily records regarding production and animal health
• Communicate effectively with the farm manager regarding daily activities and facility issues
• Monitor and maintain ventilation systems to ensure optimal animal comfort
• Oversee facility organization, cleanliness, and maintenance upkeep
• Uphold all company policies with a focus on safety, animal welfare, and biosecurity

Requirements

• 2+ years of livestock experience required
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to perform hands-on animal handling and manual labor
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds (occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance)
• Availability to work weekends
• Reliable method of transportation to and from the farm site
