Family Worker

Responsibilities

• Implement family services, health, and community engagement content for assigned Head Start centers.
• Build strength-based partnerships with parents to identify development goals and create family plans.
• Provide parent education on topics including health, safety, nutrition, mental health, and budgeting.
• Conduct regular home visits and ongoing contacts to monitor family needs and progress.
• Provide case management to address identified needs, crises, and community resource referrals.
• Maintain accurate family records and documentation using the Child Plus record-keeping system.
• Act as a liaison and advocate between the community and the Child Development program.
• Support classroom teams and families using Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
• Promote family engagement through recruitment activities, resource fairs, and monthly newsletters.

Requirements

• Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or Human Services.
• Prior experience in casework, community organizations, or working with small groups.
• Valid driver's license, current adequate car insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to relate well to both children and parents.
• Physical ability to engage in motor activities, including running, jumping, and lifting children in emergency situations.
• Flexibility to perform evening home visits and participate in weekend parent activities.
