About the role
Responsibilities
- Conduct physical failure analysis from low yield lots, baseline material, qualifications, and customer requests.
- Identify causes of failure by performing sample selection and determining optimal analysis techniques for fast, accurate results.
- Support manufacturing and engineering teams with physical failure analysis results for new process/product introductions and product transfers.
- Represent the Analysis Engineering department in foundry customer meetings to provide timely analysis results.
- Analyze electrical and imaging results to identify root causes and publish findings to team members and customers.
- Recommend analysis approaches based on customer failure mode data and electrical isolation results.
- Generate and compile high-quality FA reports for internal and external customers to assist in issue resolution.
Requirements
- B.S. to PhD in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Material Science, Physics, or a closely related discipline.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor FinFET fabrication processes and device physics (e.g., Transistors, PN Junctions).
- Basic knowledge of wafer/die level semiconductor Automated Test Equipment (ATE) tests and FA methodologies.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with FA tools and techniques such as SEM, FIB, PVC, OBIRCH, or PEM.
- Experience with ATE systems like Teradyne UFLEX, Advantest V93K, or T2000.
- Ability to interpret FA and electrical ATE test data from die level down to the transistor level.
- Understanding of Wafer Level Reliability stress data (e.g., TDDB, HCI, HTOL).
- Experience with layout software (Camelot/Avalon) or developing automation scripts using Python.
