Failure Analysis Nanoprobe Engineer

Responsibilities

• Conduct electrical characterization of semiconductor IC devices using advanced nanoprobe systems (SEM and AFM based).
• Evaluate electrical characteristics to determine the root cause of failures in collaboration with Failure Analysis and Product Engineering teams.
• Recommend analysis approaches based on customer failure mode data and optical fault isolation results.
• Generate and compile technical reports for both internal and external customers.
• Maintain accurate records of experiments, data, and findings.
• Perform first-line maintenance on tools and equipment and coordinate with vendors for major technical issues.
• Ensure all activities comply with company and industry safety standards.

Requirements

• B.S. to PhD in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Material Science, Physics, or a closely related discipline.
• Strong understanding of semiconductor FinFET fabrication processes and device physics (e.g., Transistors, PN Junctions).
• Knowledge of wafer/die level semiconductor Automated Test Equipment (ATE) tests and FA methodologies.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with FA tools and techniques such as SEM, FIB, PVC, OBIRCH, or PEM.
• Experience with ATE systems like Teradyne UFLEX, Advantest V93K, or T2000.
• Ability to interpret FA and electrical ATE test data from die level down to the transistor level.
• Experience with layout software (Camelot or Avalon) or developing automation scripts using Python.
• Familiarity with Wafer Level Reliability stress data (TDDB, HCI, HTOL, etc.).
