Failure Analysis Engineering Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed failure analysis on defective materials, components, or products using analytical tools such as optical microscopes, AFM, OSA, and ZYGO.
• Identify root causes of defects to support continuous quality improvement and product reliability.
• Interpret analysis results, monitor failure trends, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prevent defect recurrence.
• Follow all laboratory safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation, technical reports, and ensure proper handover of findings between shifts.

Requirements

• Diploma in Engineering or a related field from a recognized institution.
• Strong technical and analytical skills in conducting failure investigations and root cause analysis.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English for documenting findings and communicating with teams.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases within deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Early to mid-level experience in failure analysis or a related technical field.
• Experience managing routine laboratory analysis alongside urgent, ad-hoc failure cases.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and defect mechanisms.
