Faculty Member in Biochemistry

Responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate Biochemistry lectures, tutorials, laboratory sessions, and problem-based learning activities
• Teach fundamental concepts in molecular biology, cell biology, metabolism, enzymes, proteins, nucleic acids, genetics, and clinical biochemistry
• Integrate clinical relevance of biochemistry into healthcare education
• Utilize Blackboard (LMS), ExamSoft, and other educational technologies
• Develop course materials, assessments, examinations, and laboratory activities
• Provide academic advising and mentorship to Preparatory Year students
• Conduct research in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related biomedical sciences
• Publish scholarly work in peer-reviewed journals and participate in academic conferences
• Participate in departmental meetings, academic committees, and quality assurance initiatives
• Contribute to curriculum review, assessment, and continuous program improvement
• Participate in scientific outreach and community engagement initiatives

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Biochemistry, Clinical Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a closely related discipline
• Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (Blackboard or equivalent) and ExamSoft
• Strong knowledge of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Biomedical Sciences

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD qualification
• Teaching experience in higher education
• Experience teaching Biochemistry to medical or health sciences students
• Experience in laboratory instruction, research, and academic reporting
• Experience with curriculum development and quality assurance
