Faculty Fellow and Assistant Director of the HEP Program

Responsibilities

• Advance the Morehouse HEP Program through teaching, academic advising, and student mentoring
• Oversee day-to-day operations and educational programming within multiple correctional facilities
• Serve as the primary liaison between the HEP Program, incarcerated students, and facility staff
• Manage clearances and mandatory training for HEP-affiliated faculty and students
• Coordinate recruitment, enrollment, and the smooth execution of on-site classes and tutoring
• Teach one course per year inside the prisons and one course on the Morehouse campus
• Maintain accurate student records and assist with the purchasing of curriculum materials
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with prison administration

Requirements

• PhD or terminal degree in a relevant discipline
• Administrative experience
• Experience teaching or coordinating educational programming in carceral facilities
• College-level teaching experience
• Ability to meet all clearance requirements with the Bureau of Prisons and the Georgia Department of Corrections
• Possession of personal transportation to reach FCI-ATL and other facility sites

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in higher education within adult prisons
• Experience teaching in juvenile facilities
