Faculty Director for English, Performing Arts and PE

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and maintenance of a high-quality learning environment across English, Performing Arts, and PE
• Take full responsibility for all aspects of teaching and learning within your key areas of responsibility
• Formulate the aims, objectives, and shared vision of the academy as part of the Senior Leadership Team
• Monitor, review, and evaluate teaching and learning to ensure the highest standards of achievement
• Support staff through lesson observations, feedback, and the implementation of intervention programmes
• Work with the SLT to lead assessment, reporting, and the development of schemes of learning
• Coordinate staff activities and contribute to the recruitment, training, and professional development of the team
• Raise student aspirations and ensure equal access to all aspects of the curriculum

Requirements

• QTS (or equivalent) and a good undergraduate degree
• Extensive teaching experience with a track record of outstanding teaching practice
• Successful management experience as a Head of Department or member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
• Experience with writing Self-Evaluation Forms (SEF) and improvement planning
• Experience conducting lesson observations and providing constructive feedback
• Proven ability to implement strategies that raise student achievement
• Strong ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and the Governing Body
