About the role

Responsibilities

  • Install and troubleshoot faculty computer hardware and software, including setting up new computers, networking, and peripherals.
  • Monitor and install software patches using SCCM.
  • Manage inventory tracking for all equipment purchased by the Learning Centre.
  • Service and maintain the loaner fleet of laptops, AV carts, and meeting room equipment.
  • Troubleshoot Wi-Fi and VPN issues for both Windows and Apple devices.
  • Maintain printer devices, including toner replacement and photocopier troubleshooting.
  • Provide AV support for users in classrooms and meeting rooms.
  • Assist with video recording for various events across campus.
  • Travel to distributed sites, including the remote Dairy Centre in Agassiz, BC.

Requirements

  • Completion of a relevant technical program or a university degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of three years of related technical experience.
  • Proficiency in hardware and software troubleshooting.
  • Experience with network and peripheral configuration.
  • Ability to provide AV equipment support.
  • Experience with inventory tracking.
  • Commitment to enhancing awareness and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Experience in end-user support or learning technologies within an academic environment.
  • Advanced debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office, Windows, Mac OS, WordPress, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects under pressure.
