Faculty - Air Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration

Responsibilities

• Instruct students in face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses using approved curriculum and lesson plans
• Develop syllabi, instructional aids, and research materials to enhance learning
• Provide mentorship, academic feedback, and advising to support student retention and success
• Participate in program assessment, student recruitment, and departmental committees
• Stay current with industry trends and innovations to continually improve instructional quality
• Teach dual credit courses, which may require travel to local high school campuses
• Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in HVAC-R or a related field
• Minimum of three years of industry work experience
• Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC-R safety and environmental standards
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer literacy
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Valid Texas Driver’s license with a good driving record and ability to be insured by the college

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
• Previous teaching experience in a post-secondary or high school setting
• Industry-recognized professional certifications
• Experience with the use of Open Educational Resources (OER)
