Factory Automation Technician III

Responsibilities

• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on factory automation equipment and control systems
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control-related issues on conveyors, robotic cells, and PLC-controlled modules
• Support equipment modifications, upgrades, and part replacements to improve reliability
• Coordinate PM activities and troubleshooting with production departments and external vendors
• Manage periodic Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules and maintain detailed repair documentation
• Use MES/SCADA data to analyze recurring problems and drive root cause solutions
• Train, guide, and mentor junior technicians on troubleshooting methods and safety procedures
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures

Requirements

• Minimum 15 years of maintenance experience in a production or plant environment
• High School Diploma/GED required; Associate degree or technical certification preferred
• Strong mechanical and electrical technical knowledge with hands-on industrial equipment experience
• Experience with automation equipment such as conveyors, robotics, or AMRs
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and PLC I/O lists
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/sit for extended periods up to 12 hours
• Experience working in dry-room environments with gowning/PPE requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• PLC experience with Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, or similar systems
• Ability to understand basic logic flow and I/O
