About the role
Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and maintain critical electrical, mechanical, and integrated infrastructure systems to ensure maximum availability and reliability.
- Plan and maintain reliable operation of UPS, emergency power generators, HVAC, fire detection/suppression, and building automation systems.
- Inspect grounds, facilities, and infrastructure support systems to determine the necessity of repairs or preventative maintenance.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve complex issues related to critical environment infrastructure, performing minor repairs or escalating to management.
- Respond to building occupant requests and provide emergency and operational engineering support.
- Support strategic initiatives and change management activities through data analysis and stakeholder management.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in mission-critical facility infrastructure or a similar environment.
- Post-secondary degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or a relevant trade certification.
- Strong understanding of building systems, including electrical/mechanical planning for high-availability computer facilities.
- Working knowledge of construction codes, by-laws, health and safety standards, and industry standards for critical systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and verbal/written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within a financial services environment.
- Familiarity with financial budgeting, construction contract policies, and audit requirements.
- Exposure to project management tools and methodologies.
- Understanding of risk and regulatory requirements relevant to financial institutions.
