Facility Attendant

Responsibilities

• Maintain the overall cleanliness and upkeep of assigned Residence Hall areas
• Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors, stairs, and rugs in public areas
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, door trims, and other surfaces
• Wash windows, glass partitions, window sills, and entrance door glass
• Clean and service lavatories, toilet rooms, and restrooms
• Collect and dispose of trash and debris in designated collection areas
• Replace liners in wastebaskets and trash containers
• Report maintenance needs such as broken lights, faucets, or furniture repairs
• Provide exemplary customer service to the Spelman community and visitors

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact in a diverse community
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret operating instructions and procedure manuals
• Basic computer skills, including the ability to use email systems (Outlook/Lotus Notes)
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
• Physical ability to stand, walk, reach, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of related work experience
• Current valid Georgia Driver’s License
