About the role
Responsibilities
- Support repair and maintenance of facility systems including HVAC, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, boilers, air compressors, exhaust fans, substations, electrical panels, and VFDs
- Maintain proficiency with the Building Automation System (BAS) and recommend operational improvements
- Collaborate with technicians and other departments to resolve maintenance issues and coordinate services
- Coordinate with vendors on maintenance, lockout/tagout (LOTO), warranty service, and scope reviews
- Order and maintain inventory of parts, tools, and materials for routine projects
- Maintain Clean and Dry Room ratings and adhere to 5S/3R and lean manufacturing standards
- Monitor equipment regularly to ensure normal operating conditions and a safe work environment
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; vocational certificate or associate degree preferred
- Knowledge of tools and techniques used in industrial facility maintenance and repair
- Ability to properly utilize PPE including safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, and respirators for up to 12 hours
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stoop, twist, bend, reach overhead, and stand for lengthy periods
- Availability to work alternative schedules, including condensed work weeks as operations expand
Preferred Qualifications
- Troubleshooting and repair skills in equipment and process systems
- Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Microsoft Office Suite and CMMS experience
- Technical communication skills to relay information to engineers and suppliers
