Facilities Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform routine building maintenance including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting repairs.
• Execute unit turnover tasks such as patching drywall, cleaning carpets, and repairing cabinets or countertops.
• Maintain grounds by pruning shrubs, fertilizing lawns, and performing snow and ice removal.
• Conduct daily custodial duties including emptying waste, washing windows, vacuuming, and cleaning common areas like bathrooms and kitchens.
• Manage preventive maintenance schedules and maintain accurate digital or paper logs of completed work.
• Coordinate with subcontractors on-site and perform routine security checks of buildings and offices.
• Travel to various CAPHR facilities as needed to support agency requirements.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of janitorial, custodial, and general building maintenance practices.
• Basic skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and painting.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform strenuous manual labor.
• Physical fitness required for moving heavy furniture and equipment.
• Ability to use smartphones and computers to check emails, texts, and work order software.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and work effectively with colleagues and clients.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in facility maintenance or similar roles.
