About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine building maintenance including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting repairs.
  • Execute unit turnover tasks such as patching drywall, cleaning carpets, and repairing cabinets or countertops.
  • Maintain exterior grounds by pruning shrubs, fertilizing lawns, and performing snow and ice removal.
  • Conduct daily custodial duties including cleaning common areas, bathrooms, kitchens, and hallways.
  • Manage preventive maintenance schedules and maintain accurate logs of completed work orders.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors on-site and perform routine security checks of buildings and offices.
  • Travel to various CAPHR facilities as needed to support agency requirements.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED, or HiSET.
  • Working knowledge of janitorial, custodial, and general building maintenance practices.
  • Basic skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and move heavy furniture or equipment.
  • Ability to operate lawn care and snow removal equipment.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Proficiency using smartphones and computers to check emails and manage work applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in facility maintenance roles.
