Facilities & Maintenance Safety Manager

Responsibilities

• Own EPA and RCRA hazardous waste compliance end to end, including manifests, generator status, and accumulation area management
• Administer the GHS and HazCom program and SDS library
• Manage Maximum Allowable Quantities of hazardous chemicals per IFC/NFPA 400 and coordinate with local fire and air authorities
• Own the facility-wide Job Hazard Analysis program, including setting standards and auditing for quality
• Coordinate SPCC and EPCRA spill prevention and emergency response, lead drills, and maintain a trained spill response team
• Manage the facilities safety and hazmat program budget and vendor relationships
• Manage and develop environmental and safety technicians

Requirements

• Experience managing RCRA hazardous waste compliance end to end
• Experience building or running GHS and HazCom programs
• Experience managing hazardous chemical quantities under IFC/NFPA 400 and working with regulatory authorities
• Experience managing and developing environmental or safety technicians
• Experience owning a Job Hazard Analysis program across multiple job classifications
• Experience coordinating SPCC or EPCRA spill response plans and drills
• Proven ability to maintain a compliance calendar with zero missed regulatory deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems
• OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) experience
• Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) credential
• Air permit record-keeping or emissions reporting experience
