Facilities Maintenance Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Perform minor and major repairs and preventative maintenance on industrial systems including boilers, cooling towers, chillers, air compressors, and pumps
• Chemically test and treat cooling towers and chillers to monitor treatment program effectiveness
• Inspect and test fire valves, fixed dry chemical systems, and fire pumps per NFPA standards
• Complete internal and external preventative maintenance on boilers for annual state certification inspections
• Troubleshoot and repair piping systems including steam, condensate, compressed air, city water, and sewer
• Use hand-held and power tools, including cutting torches, welders, grinders, and pipe threading machines
• Assist the Facilities Manager with outside contractors and vendors
• Follow all safety, environmental, and quality policies at all times

Requirements

• Minimum one year of industrial maintenance experience completing mechanical work
• Ability to work in a manufacturing industrial environment
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals and mechanical schematics
• Ability to use hand-held and power tools
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, bending, and pushing/pulling
• Ability to work Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 3 PM, with flexibility for overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
