Facilities Maintenance Engineer

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day facility operations to ensure safety, functionality, and compliance with building codes.
• Estimate labor and material costs for construction, repairs, and facility improvement projects.
• Perform and supervise general maintenance including carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and grounds maintenance.
• Act as the primary liaison for outside vendors, contractors, and suppliers to manage scopes of work and performance.
• Develop performance criteria and specifications for facilities and equipment to meet operational and safety requirements.
• Implement improvements to operational efficiency with a focus on environmental sustainability.
• Coach and delegate work to junior facilities staff and assist with internal office moves or workspace reconfigurations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of facilities management or maintenance experience, with at least 5 years in a facilities-specific role.
• Hands-on expertise in multiple trades including carpentry, electrical, and HVAC.
• Proven ability to manage vendor contracts and oversee construction or repair projects from concept to completion.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and environmental compliance standards.
• Ability to work onsite (M-F 7:30am-4pm) with required weekend and after-hours availability.

Preferred Qualifications

• Formal training or certifications in one or more skilled trades.
• Experience developing and implementing sustainability initiatives to improve energy efficiency.
