Facilities Maintenance

Responsibilities

• Maintain all Connecticut Convention Center and Adriaens Landing assets to an acceptable quality standard
• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on HVAC, lighting, plumbing, kitchen equipment, painting, and carpentry
• Conduct routine inspections of the premises and equipment to ensure operational efficiency
• Respond to emergency situations and remain available for on-call duties as needed
• Coordinate with the Engineering leadership to ensure projects are completed according to specifications and timelines
• Oversee outside contractors when professional repairs are necessary
• Follow building safety, OSHA guidelines, and energy conservation standards

Requirements

• Maintenance experience in a convention center or large-scale meeting destination venue
• Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC, fire suppression, and lighting systems
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varying hours for snow removal
• Ability to work at heights exceeding 30 feet, including ladders and scaffolding
• Valid state-issued driver’s license
• Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs and perform tasks involving climbing, crawling, and bending

Preferred Qualifications

• Forklift and aerial lift certification
• Experience using a Bosun chair
• Strong troubleshooting abilities for machine breakdowns
