Facilities General Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Perform millwright activities including equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, belt and shaft alignments, and rigging
• Troubleshoot HVAC devices, solenoids, actuators, and low voltage systems using laptops and DDC equipment
• Conduct preventative maintenance and testing on standby emergency generators
• Perform metal fabrication and weld repairs to rebuild equipment and parts
• Support trades teams in plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and automotive technology
• Assist with facilities services including snow removal, event setup, and grounds maintenance

Requirements

• Minimum five years experience in millwright, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, welding, or engine maintenance
• Proficiency in welding techniques such as TIG, MIG, stick, or gas (SMAW, GMAW, GTAW)
• Ability to obtain Certificate of fitness T6 – Emergency Generators (TQP)
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to furnish own hand tools for plumbing and mechanical work
• Knowledge of lockout/tag out, confined space entry, and electrical safety procedures

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical certifications for welding, propane, or natural gas
