About the role
Responsibilities
- Inspect and service facility utility equipment and systems including boilers, chillers, and emergency generators
- Coordinate the preventative maintenance program for all utility and infrastructure systems
- Monitor and modify preventive maintenance programs to ensure maximum effectiveness
- Oversee and monitor outside mechanical and utility specialty contractors
- Schedule and monitor maintenance repair work, alterations, and renovation upgrades
- Oversee infrastructure construction, installation, and commissioning activities
- Instruct personnel regarding infrastructure and utility hazards and provide safety training
- Maintain records to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory codes
- Coordinate infrastructure parts, materials, and supplies within budgetary constraints
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of experience as a plant mechanic, stationary engineer, or boiler operator
- Working knowledge and certification as required under applicable regulatory and building codes
- Strong knowledge of utility and infrastructure systems common to healthcare environments
- Ability to read and interpret maintenance and construction documents
- Proficiency in common office software programs
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and push carts up to 500 pounds
- Ability to tolerate exposure to toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, and confined spaces
Preferred Qualifications
- Three to five years of healthcare Facilities Services experience
- Previous construction experience
- Universal Refrigerant Handling Certification
