About the role

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and service facility utility equipment and systems including boilers, chillers, and emergency generators
  • Coordinate the preventative maintenance program for all utility and infrastructure systems
  • Monitor and modify preventive maintenance programs to ensure maximum effectiveness
  • Oversee and monitor outside mechanical and utility specialty contractors
  • Schedule and monitor maintenance repair work, alterations, and renovation upgrades
  • Oversee infrastructure construction, installation, and commissioning activities
  • Instruct personnel regarding infrastructure and utility hazards and provide safety training
  • Maintain records to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory codes
  • Coordinate infrastructure parts, materials, and supplies within budgetary constraints

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of experience as a plant mechanic, stationary engineer, or boiler operator
  • Working knowledge and certification as required under applicable regulatory and building codes
  • Strong knowledge of utility and infrastructure systems common to healthcare environments
  • Ability to read and interpret maintenance and construction documents
  • Proficiency in common office software programs
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and push carts up to 500 pounds
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, and confined spaces

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three to five years of healthcare Facilities Services experience
  • Previous construction experience
  • Universal Refrigerant Handling Certification
