Facilities Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform ongoing preventative and repair response work orders on facility mechanical, electrical and other installed systems
• Maintain and operate all HVAC operations including BMS, Mitsubishi VRF air conditioning, rooftop AC, VAV boxes, VFDs, pumps, and motors
• Inspect building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure design capability compliance
• Complete maintenance and repair records using a CMMS
• Perform facility inspections and report on conditions impacting occupancy
• Respond quickly to emergency situations and summon assistance as needed
• Participate in Health and Safety Committee activities, including incident investigations and audits
• Monitor and comply with government agency codes (FDNY, DOB, DEP, EPA, OSHA)

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of technical experience in building engineering
• Strong background in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical production equipment repair
• Experience working with FDNY, DOB, and other government agency standards
• Working knowledge of OSHA Standards and health and safety best practices
• Proficiency in G Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and Dropbox/Box
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights using ladders or scissor lifts
• Ability to work in various environmental conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in industrial, university, laboratory, or hospital buildings
• Possession of NYC Fire Department Certificates of Fitness (F-01, A-35, F-03, F-78, P-98, S-12, S-13, or S-15)
