About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, scoping, and implementation of complex facilities projects for Optical Fiber and Cable manufacturing processes worldwide.
- Propose and execute projects requiring engineering analysis and modeling, while monitoring technical, cost, and time objectives.
- Initiate major process improvement projects to drive cost reduction, quality improvement, and better process understanding.
- Provide technical leadership on facilities projects and act as a division consultant for process services integration.
- Direct the activities of engineering personnel and manage large external teams of contractors and sub-contractors.
- Develop staffing requirements and ensure effective resource utilization across project groups.
- Communicate project plans, progress, and potential problems effectively to all stakeholders.
Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or a related engineering field.
- 10+ years of experience in project management for large teams and large-scale facilities.
- Proven experience with green field and brown field construction projects and site modifications.
- Expertise in designing Power and/or Electronic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID).
- Experience managing projects from the development phase through to full production.
- Ability to travel 25-50%, including potential international travel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working closely with suppliers, contractors, and diverse technical staff.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify total cost solutions and savings opportunities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects from concept through to commissioning.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to explain complex systems design to all levels of management.
