Facilities Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support in system troubleshooting, reliability improvement, and commissioning activities
• Lead or participate in project teams responsible for mechanical and chemical utility system design, installation, and startup
• Prepare engineering deliverables including Basis of Design, design narratives, performance specs, SOPs, and HAZOP reviews
• Oversee consultant and contractor work, including scope development, bid review, and performance tracking
• Conduct site walks to coordinate utility connections and validate system integration with new equipment
• Manage third-party service providers and ensure staff are appropriately trained
• Employ root-cause analysis techniques to troubleshoot failures and prevent reoccurrence
• Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to document maintenance and repair activities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience in facilities engineering, HVAC, and utility system design
• Strong hands-on experience with system startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting
• Ability to read and understand P&IDs and Air Flow Diagrams (AFDs)
• Proficiency in technical documentation including SOPs and design reports
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, HVAC load calculators, and hydraulic analysis software
• Knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) regulations
• Experience with Building Management Systems and CMMS
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs and work in controlled GxP environments
