About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage and support facilities infrastructure and capital projects to improve system reliability and operational efficiency
- Support the operation and continuous improvement of critical campus systems, including chillers, boilers, air handling units, and generators
- Troubleshoot and investigate the root cause of infrastructure and utility-related issues impacting site operations
- Partner with facilities technicians to improve maintenance processes and system troubleshooting capabilities
- Support compliance activities for critical utility systems, including purified water, compressed air, and clean rooms
- Identify and implement energy efficiency initiatives and infrastructure upgrades to support sustainability goals
- Support qualification, validation, and change control activities for regulated systems to ensure compliance with FDA and quality standards
- Develop and maintain engineering documentation, procedures, and quality records
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (e.g., mechanical, chemical, electrical, civil, or industrial) or a related discipline
- Minimum 2 years of experience in facilities engineering, infrastructure, manufacturing engineering, or utility systems within a regulated industrial environment
- Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure systems such as HVAC, chillers, boilers, compressed air, or generators
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex engineering or operational systems and drive process improvements
- Knowledge of engineering documentation, change control, and quality systems within regulated environments
- Ability to work full-time onsite at Arden Hills, Arbor Lakes, or Maple Grove
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
- Experience in FDA-regulated industries such as medical device, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance, reliability engineering, or asset management principles
- Experience with clean rooms, controlled environments, or validated utility systems
- Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS), monitoring systems, and industrial controls
