About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform piping stress and flexibility analysis for refineries using CAESAR II, AutoPIPE, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools
  • Execute advanced engineering assessments and special studies using ANSYS for complex piping, support, and equipment interaction problems
  • Evaluate existing and modified piping systems for thermal expansion, sustained loads, occasional loads, and equipment interface suitability
  • Apply mechanical engineering principles, including fracture mechanics, fatigue, buckling, and creep, to evaluate the integrity of piping and mechanical components
  • Recommend and optimize piping support strategies including rigid supports, springs, guides, and anchors
  • Assess piping loads imposed on connected equipment and verify compliance with allowable nozzle load limits
  • Support brownfield tie-ins, rerouting, and unit modifications considering plant access and shutdown constraints
  • Prepare and review stress reports, support markups, and nozzle load summaries

Requirements

  • Minimum 7+ years of relevant piping stress analysis experience
  • Mechanical Engineering degree from a recognized (AICTE) university
  • Strong working knowledge of piping and repair codes, including ASME B31.1, B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, and ASME PCC 2
  • Proficiency in piping stress and FEA modeling using tools such as CAESAR II, AutoPIPE, ANSYS, Abaqus, or SolidWorks
  • Experience in brownfield or refinery project execution, including tie-ins and rerouting
  • Ability to create detailed engineering documents and engage effectively with customers
