Facilities Custodial Worker

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, restrooms, showers, and sinks using prescribed schedules and methods
• Empty waste receptacles, polish furniture, and disinfect horizontal and vertical surfaces
• Perform floor and carpet care, including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, shampooing, and applying finishes
• Operate powered cleaning equipment such as electric strippers, buffers, burnishers, and power washers
• Set up rooms for meetings and special events, including moving and transporting furniture
• Maintain supply closets and request cleaning supplies as needed
• Perform basic maintenance on custodial equipment, such as replacing vacuum belts and bags

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, OR 12 months of general work experience
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs frequently
• Ability to operate various types of powered cleaning equipment
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, safety practices, and environmental health standards
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively
