Facilities & Compliance Checks Operator

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections across distillery areas to ensure safe working conditions and housekeeping standards
• Monitor and support the operation of essential utilities including steam boilers, water systems, compressed air, and effluent treatment
• Perform scheduled compliance checks aligned with HMRC requirements and statutory inspections
• Execute safety checks for fire systems, ATEX-rated equipment, emergency lighting, and pressure systems
• Monitor hazardous areas such as the still house and spirit store to ensure DSEAR/ATEX compliance
• Maintain accurate compliance documentation, maintenance logs, and reports for internal and external audits
• Support environmental and sustainability processes, including waste management and effluent monitoring
• Assist with minor repairs, maintenance tasks, and site cleaning to keep production areas operational

Requirements

• Experience in distillery operations or a similar industrial production environment
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations including ATEX, DSEAR, and COSHH
• Relevant safety certifications such as IOSH or NEBOSH
• First Aid certification and Legionella awareness
• Understanding of HMRC regulations and compliance documentation
• Excellent numeric and literacy skills with basic computer proficiency
• Full UK driving licence
